Position Overview | Bridging North America (BNA) is a consortium comprised of Aecon, ACS and Fluor and has been selected by Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) to deliver the Gordie Howe International Bridge Project. Aecon Major Projects is seeking a highly qualified and experienced person to be seconded into the Project Co. for this complex P3 design and construction project. |
Key Responsibilities | The General Superintendent, Bridge will provide overall on-site management, administrative and technical direction for the iconic Gordie Howe – Bridging North America Project based out of Windsor, Ontario. The General Superintendent, Bridge will enforce company and project policies and ensures project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Performs all functions and responsibilities in consonance with the company’s values and beliefs.

Required Knowledge & Skills | • 2-3 years of field experience as a General Foreman or Works Manager on heavy civil construction projects • 2-3 years recent experience on medium to long span cable stayed bridges over land and water • Candidate must have 2-3 years of extensive experience in construction of balanced cantilever structures, construction of bridge towers/pylons greater than 150m in height using self-climbing systems or multiple simultaneous jump-form operations • Previous foundation experience • 2-3 years’ experience working on installation of cable-stay anchor boxes for stay installation, posttensioning works, stay installation, prefabricated or in-situ deck-segment works, complex erection of major temporary works and other components for cable stayed bridge construction • Candidate must have 2-3 years’ experience overseeing installation and climbing of tower cranes greater than 150m in height, rebar jigs operations, rebar prefabrication & pre-tied rebar installation for bridge construction among others • Must have 2-3 years’ experience supervising a team of 80 or more subordinate personnel • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record |
